Yesterday (12-12-12) we went and volunteered at the Community Table. For those who don't know, the Community Table is a charity van that delivers food to those who are less fortunate every night of the week. It was a real eye-opener for us and felt very rewarding. There are two different vans and they go on two different routes helping people! The food that they were given last night was hot soup, a sandwich and a bottle of water. It is really nice that they get a hot meal on a cold night like last night. I think we will be back again helping very soon!
On another note, for Key Club I went to Dress-A-Child. At first I had no idea that Dress-A-Child was put on by the Salvation Army, but when I walked into K-mart that day, I found out it was! Anyway, Dress-A-Child is basically a time where volunteers and sponsors come together and dress a child in need. The budget is $100 and it is from donated money I think. Then you get your child and go shopping with them for an hour! And you have a list with their sizes and a rank of importance for certain items. It was really fun, and both of these things were/are great things to get involved in!
